Welcome to monkmedicalgroup
If you've arrived at this page from Agile Momentum, then congratulations - you're already in good hands.
We know what it's like to train at a high level. We know what it's like to try to be the best. With a son who was part of the GB National Windsurfing Squad and competed in European and World Championships while doing A Levels and a Physics Degree we know what it's like to try to balance training with study; with a daughter training as a Specialist in Accident & Emergency Medicine while competing in OffRoad Triathlons at National and International level (she will wear the GB vest at the TriCross event in Sardinia this September) we know the difficulty of trying to square a demanding and irregular work rota with elite level training, and Specialist training in the NHS.
Going beyond simply patching you up to get you back to training and competing, we are helping to enhance sports performance and achievement using the bodymind and acupuncture and electroacupuncture.
"Overcoming sports peoples' fears and self imposed limits are the foundation stone of what we do. But it is really plain vanilla stuff and there is so much more you could have. I will, of course, meet your basic needs, but I believe that if you are signed up to Agile Momentum you are probably the sort of athlete who wants to go further. This is where metacognition comes in.
Introducing you to metacognition, or thinking about thinking, and how to relate it to sport, will help you take yourself not just to the next level but the level after
that. Once you have the ideas you will be able to run with them to keep you going forward".
"I always emphasise the transferability of these skill. You will knowhow to apply them to your work, relationships, finances- enhanced results in all areas are possible if you are creative and playful and prepared to change your mind.
I have been working for about en years now messing patients, helping them to back up their blind alleys and recover their war, self esteem and joy in life. I am returning now to the sports arena as it an area which personally excites me - this change of direction is a good example of transferable skills in practice.
